Something to consider is that what we are seeking is instant incapacitation. This occurs only in 3 ways: a CNS hit (brain or upper spine), psychological, and lastly pain response. The majority of shots (upwards of 80%) are due to psychological and/or pain response. I guess I am quoting my own research here that was presented and known as Small Arms Mediated Human Incapacitation Theory (SAMHIT)
