CQB Class Description:
The Solo CQB (210) is an intermediate 2-day course designed to equip the average person for situations you may need to move ALONE through a structure, building or residence with live fire runs through a shoot-house. Students learn both dynamic and deliberate entry methods with a heavy emphasis on deliberate and limited penetration. There are group discussions on tactical progressions, risk assessments and tactical imperatives to common problems. Structural anatomy such doors, hallways, rooms, stairwells as well as how they are all connected from a tactical perspective are covered. Main subjects include: emergency action plan, firearm posture & flow, footwork, use of cover, door reading & management. Additional subjects include: surgical marksmanship, low light tactics, strong pointing, friendly link up procedures and force protection suggestions. The main objective is to provide a series of Tactics, Techniques & Procedures (TTP) that when employed allow for calculated risk assessment with each step taken or not taken.
Basic CQB Gear List:
- Defensive pistol, 9mm only
- 200 rounds of ammunition
- 3x magazines
- Range appropriate clothing; long pants, collared shirt and athletic shoes
- On the Waistband (OWB) or In the Waistband (IWB) holster
- Sturdy belt
- Eye & ear protection
- Water, snacks, sunscreen and appropriate inclement weather clothing
- Notebook with pen/pencil
- Open mind
Solo CQB Class Prerequisites:
Basic Pistol (101) equivalent or similar. Students must successfully pass the Beginner Pistol Test with an 80% or higher to participate in the live fire shoot-house runs. Those who do not, will conduct all runs with a laser equipped pistol provided by the training staff. The recommended target is the TRICON TCT-MK4 available from Action Target or an official NRA B8 repair center.
Registration fee does not include any associated range fees.
