We’ve all heard the commentary, but it is true. No one is coming to save you, your safety and future is your responsibility.
Response Time
At first glance, you may think I’m speaking of a deadly force encounter. One where you are on your own to defend yourself or your loved ones from an evil doer. Where the police more than likely cannot respond to your calls for help in a timely enough matter to make a difference. You are on your own. Now stop for a moment and rethink this idea. Instead of thinking about a deadly force encounter, I want you to think about the political landscape. I want you to realize the same holds true. Politicians are not coming to save you, we are on our own.
Freedom Is Not Free
Freedom is not easy. To a certain extent you have to be willing to sacrifice. You have to be willing to fight to maintain your freedoms. There is a lot to be said about this type of attitude of independence. It harbors up images of our founding fathers getting it done. It screams of our innate autonomy, wanting to live a good life for our family and be left alone. Gone are the days, if ever, we could trust a career politician to truly have our best interests in mind. Gone are the true statesmen who would safeguard our way of life.
To The Republic
Our government’s purpose as defined in the Preamble of the Constitution is to “establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity.” Rights are in place to protect freedoms and laws are in place to maintain order. Our constitution establishes a federal republic, one governed by our elected representatives and our elected leader through free and secret ballots. We are a republic because our government derives its power from we the people. This is our history, we must fight to ensure it is also our future.
The Best Defense Is A Good Offense
How do we take responsibility for our future. We have to go on the offense, we have to fight to return to our way of living. It starts quite simply with the most important civic duty we have; the right to vote. This act is so important, there are five amendments in our constitution governing the right to vote. I’m confident as the silent majority if we marshal our forces to vote it will not be enough. We need to encourage all generations to take a stand. Remind them, their single vote could be the difference between freedom or tyranny. We need to proactively engage with our family, friends and neighbors on the importance of voting.
Our Strategy
The stakes couldn’t be higher. We must work collectively to ensure we send elected representatives to Washington who will truly represent us and our way of life. This means, both the upcoming Presidential race as well as the midterms. We must not only retain the Senate, we have to pickup enough seats to comfortably weather narrow margins. We must turn the House to ensure Congress is established by we the people. Lastly, we must continue to ensure constitutionalist judges are nominated to include Supreme Court nominations. This is no different than preparing to defend our lives from a deadly force threat. We have to educate, prepare and then take action.
This is the calm before the storm. This is the time to act.
