We’ve all heard the commentary, but it is true. No one is coming to save you, your safety and future is your responsibility.

Response Time

At first glance, you may think I’m speaking of a deadly force encounter. One where you are on your own to defend yourself or your loved ones from an evil doer. Where the police more than likely cannot respond to your calls for help in a timely enough matter to make a difference. You are on your own. Now stop for a moment and rethink this idea. Instead of thinking about a deadly force encounter, I want you to think about the political landscape. I want you to realize the same holds true. Politicians are not coming to save you, we are on our own.

Freedom Is Not Free

Freedom is not easy. To a certain extent you have to be willing to sacrifice. You have to be willing to fight to maintain your freedoms. There is a lot to be said about this type of attitude of independence. It harbors up images of our founding fathers getting it done. It screams of our innate autonomy, wanting to live a good life for our family and be left alone. Gone are the days, if ever, we could trust a career politician to truly have our best interests in mind. Gone are the true statesmen who would safeguard our way of life.

To The Republic

Our government’s purpose as defined in the Preamble of the Constitution is to “establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity.” Rights are in place to protect freedoms and laws are in place to maintain order. Our constitution establishes a federal republic, one governed by our elected representatives and our elected leader through free and secret ballots. We are a republic because our government derives its power from we the people. This is our history, we must fight to ensure it is also our future.

The Best Defense Is A Good Offense

How do we take responsibility for our future. We have to go on the offense, we have to fight to return to our way of living. It starts quite simply with the most important civic duty we have; the right to vote. This act is so important, there are five amendments in our constitution governing the right to vote. I’m confident as the silent majority if we marshal our forces to vote it will not be enough. We need to encourage all generations to take a stand. Remind them, their single vote could be the difference between freedom or tyranny. We need to proactively engage with our family, friends and neighbors on the importance of voting.

Our Strategy

The stakes couldn’t be higher. We must work collectively to ensure we send elected representatives to Washington who will truly represent us and our way of life. This means, both the upcoming Presidential race as well as the midterms. We must not only retain the Senate, we have to pickup enough seats to comfortably weather narrow margins. We must turn the House to ensure Congress is established by we the people. Lastly, we must continue to ensure constitutionalist judges are nominated to include Supreme Court nominations. This is no different than preparing to defend our lives from a deadly force threat. We have to educate, prepare and then take action.

This is the calm before the storm. This is the time to act.

Liberal Logic

I have been opposed to gun free zones since their inception. This is a classic example of liberal logic with deadly consequences. We do not have a gun epidemic in this country, we have a stupid problem. Where some people are too clouded in their own biases to see the real world. Ask yourself this question, why would a criminal commit a crime? What compels another human to commit murder? The truth is a bit hurtful in that it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter what compelled them to commit such heinous crimes. The fact of the matter is they did.

Curb Appeal

We may want to better understand the motives that lead to these horrible acts. That to me makes sense, but if we are truly going to dig deeper then we cannot bury what we find. For instances, why have the overwhelming incidents of mass shootings over the last several years been committed at gun free locations. Rather than try to figure out what propelled them to commit these crimes why don’t we start asking what lead them to choose their locations. In the past, the pattern was to right perceived wrongs. The Columbine shooting and several others of that time frame fit this narrative. More and more of the recent events happened for other reasons, but why did they choose the locations specifically.

Soft Targets

Why haven’t we asked these questions. If we were to ask these questions I bet we would get some interesting responses. I cannot begin to speculate or speak on their behalf, however if I were to look at this from a force protection perspective the locations they choose are soft targets. They have no visible security presence, no measures specifically targeting these types of attacks, no deterrences in place to prevent these atrocious acts of violence. When I operated in high risk zones through out the globe it was interesting to see how other countries interacted with their host nation.

Please Stop, Or I Will Be Forced To Ask Again

Most of the time, if they knew they were being surveyed as a potential target and most are, they don’t bother to tell terrorist they cannot bring bombs or guns to their facility. The operate under a completely different premise. The terrorist are already going to commit these acts, so how do we stop them. I’m not saying these force protection measures need to be adopted stateside. I’m saying it is a different mindset about the very nature of those who want to do harm.

Face The Facts

There is no illusion about force protection measure being “feel” good. They have to be good because people’s lives are at stake. Feel good initiatives are terrible, they fly in the face of practical solutions. If lives were lost because of a feel good initiative overseas there would be consequences. We know gun free zones don’t work, they enable criminals to commit murder because they know they can empose their will. They know they can do so without fearing for their own lives. Once confronted by a disciplined and armed fighter the outcome can be significantly altered. The real question is why would we continue to ignore this outcome.

It cannot be said enough, in a fair fight, one where both parties are armed the outcome is no longer left to being one sided. Now, each side is in charge or their own destiny and may the better party win.

I’m sure we are all sick of the anti-gun rhetoric after a horrific crime. When it comes from a public appointee who is a police chief and it borders on gun confiscation it elevates the game.

Big Government

In this case, it happens to be the Houston Police Chief. A quick search of his history on gun confiscation rhetoric would take you all the way back to his time as the Austin Police Chief. I remember vividly when it happened and thinking to myself why would someone in his position make those comments. Why would someone whose job is to uphold the law feel it is his position to even comment about infringing on his constituents civil liberties. I witnessed the difference in those comments from then to current and all I can say is their true colors are showing. In this case, their true colors are how the citizenry is not responsible. Rhetoric such as this says to the majority we need the government and in this case the Chief of Police to step in and manage our lives.

Be professional

What bothers me the most is not so much their agenda, but the positions they occupy. As a civil servant who is in charge of public safety is it appropriate to voice his personal views. I think there is a fine line between being professional and then pushing your own narrative. I’m fine if someone wants to push their own narrative, have the decency to be transparent about your motives and actions. When you do so at the helm of a large police department it implies you have the support and permission of the department to speak on their behalf. It is one thing to be subversive about it, the idea no one else knows is long gone these days. It does however show conviction; which I can appreciate.

Calling a Spade a Spade

His current message has taken a harsher tone. In my opinion, his view is in the wrong. Pure and simple. Are there some people who are negligent. Of course, but do the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many. As a general rule, no, but especially no when it comes to their constitutional rights. NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch asked him onto her show to have a conversation on the subject. To be honest, I would have been interested in hearing what he has to say and I would encourage others the same. It is important they be given an opportunity to be honest in public, to go on record. Should the public have a different view now they can make up their own minds.

It’s Not About the Guns

The bottom line is as Chief of Police he has no business using the departments good name to further his own personal agenda. When he wears a uniform, stands in front of cameras with department colors and directs his opinions at the camera it is implied he is speaking on behalf of the department he represents. If he wants to push a gun confiscation agenda or change the law then do so on your own. I do see how he is supporting an initiative to “vote out” those who differ from his opinion. Let’s be clear, laws already exist and it is unlikely they would have prevented this horrific act.  is there anything short of revoking an entire nation’s civil liberties that would have prevented this tragedy? More importantly and this is directed right at you Art…it is not about the guns.

Until we are ready to have a serious conversation about these horrific acts I see this for what it is, gun confiscation. We need real leaders who are willing to talk about the real issues such as social decay, mental health and the failures of our public schools.

Oh look…ass-clowns

There are also no words to describe the ass-clownery that commences the moment after a tragedy. It took all of a nanosecond before the anti-gun movement began their predictable journey around the sun. I don’t need to hear the empty rhetoric, I don’t need the deception, I don’t need them pissing down my back and tell me it’s raining. I have had enough and I’m more than happy to have a genuine conversation with those who can see past their own emotions. The vast majority don’t want to have a conversation; they quite simply are out to dismantle the constitution. Starting with the second amendment. Stop it, cease and desist…you are not fooling anyone.

Safety tips

If you want to have a genuine conversation you need to abide by these simple tips. Don’t lie to me, don’t try to come at me with some heart string tugging when you only want gun confiscation. Be honest, I will respect you more. Don’t try to compare yourself to me. You are not, you never will be. You will never amass the knowledge I have regarding firearms, their judicious use, their history, our history and our national security. If you think you can match wits with me in those arenas you are an idiot. So, I don’t care if you own guns, believe in reasonable anti-gun agendas or just want a civil conversation that only includes your viewpoint. It’s not going to happen until you take the time to educate yourself on those subjects. Make no mistake, I have educated myself on your agenda, motives and tactics. Don’t try to belittle me or my beliefs because they don’t match your anti-gun agenda. You better respect them if you want any chance of a genuine conversation. Don’t try to blame me for the actions of a psychopath. Don’t blame an inanimate object that is incapable of independent thought or action. Don’t try to talk over me, try to drown me out with slurs or insults and definitely do not label me or associate me with the acts of a psychopath. If these helpful tips are put into practice I can envision a genuine conversation.

Focus on the real problem

If you want to have a genuine conversation don’t start it with gun violence. Gun violence is not the problem and if you believe that, you are an idiot and refer to the previous paragraph for tips on how not to be an idiot. If, however, you want to talk about violence. You will have my undivided attention. I will lay into you about how the decay of our society has given rise to the decay of human worth. How pervasive violence is in our society. How society has be brainwashed through television programs, movies and video games to devalue human life. You want an honest discourse, you better educate yourself on this subject. You better come at me with something related to this moral decay, acknowledging it is the first step. Don’t for a moment come at me with anything remotely close to anti-gun rhetoric because I will call you out for what you are; an enemy to our constitution and way of life.

Now you know

If you truly care about how pervasive violence is in our society then you better educate yourself on the subject. What you might learn is violence is on a downward trend and has been for a while. Crimes such as murder, aggravated assault, rape and robberies are declining across the country. You better do your research, be ready to state your sources because I am happy to fact check. Here is a news flash, I don’t care about other countries. I don’t care what they do, what they say or what they think because they are not Americans. They have no business in my business. The reason I don’t care what other countries think is simple. The Constitution of the United States! Yeah, it sucks to be you, to not have inalienable rights bestowed upon you by God so keep out of my business.

Keep these tips in mind and you’d be surprised at what good would come. Make no mistake, I’m open to genuine conversation, but my conviction and resolve to protect our constitutional rights is steadfast.

Is it true we have a high number of mental health disorders in our country? Who knows, the point should be it doesn’t matter if responsible citizens take responsibility for their own safety.

It’s not a science

Mental health disorders are difficult to diagnose. Now add to the process determining whether they are a danger to themselves or others requiring involuntary confinement and you are wading into some difficult waters. I believe we need to do more for our fellow citizens who do suffer from mental illnesses, I believe it needs to be metered with compassion and recognition of their civil rights. What I don’t believe in is knee jerk reactions to violence in our country using mental illness as the scapegoat. I honestly don’t believe dumping money into medical research or medical wellness programs will stop violence in our country, I don’t think it will even curb it. What I do believe in is pursuing mental health goals adjacent to personal safety discussions.

Accept reality

Violence exists in our world and there is no getting around it despite best intentions or feel good agendas. Instead, we need to acknowledge violence is a part of our life and empower people to manage their own safety. This doesn’t mean we condone violence, it simply means we refuse to be a volunteer victim. I believe educating people on how protecting their families is important sends a message to evil doers. When the masses are vested in their own safety, criminal enterprise will be faced with a dwindling pool of volunteer victims.

Responsible versus violent

Thinking the government can regulate our safety is nothing more than a pipe dream at best, cognitive dissonance at worse. Another misconception we need to dispel is because I choose violence does not make me violent. It simply means I’m willing to defend my family, to put their well being and safety above those who seek do them harm.  We have laws governing civil conduct, but criminals are criminals because they do not value or respect the law. When response times for life threatening emergencies are measured in minutes you have seconds to take action. This is a difficult concept to grasp for some, but hoping a violent criminal will not be violent in the commission of a crime because you are cooperating is reckless. I’m not saying there are not times when cooperation is ideal, but to base your whole argument around a single concept is sketchy.

The elephant in the room

The most recent incident in Florida illustrates two major issues. The suspect was evaluated and deemed not a danger to himself or the public and the incident occurred within a “gun free” zone. These two facts further compound the whole discussion. Mental health professionals have a difficult task and is anything but a science. There was nothing in the evaluation warranting involuntary confinement. Gun free zones are nothing more than criminal empowerment zones. Florida is one of six states who prohibit legal firearms within public regions of airports. When you combine these two variables it creates ideal circumstances for tragedy. While everyone wants to discuss mental health issues, no one has brought up gun free zones. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out if they choose to act in an area they stand to face little resistance they have greater chance of success.

We are a compassionate country, we do care for our fellow man. We should not let that trait supersede our rights and more importantly responsibility for our safety.

The more bad things we see happen to our citizens, the more people seem to get stupid. I’m pissed and have no problem placing blame for these atrocities, but that is not who I’m pissed at; I’m pissed at the stupid people who do not get it.

The fittest on earth

Recently Dave Castro, Director of Training for the Crossfit Games and former U.S. Navy SEAL announced the winners of this year’s games would receive a Glock pistol courtesy of Glock, Inc. Let’s put this in perspective, it’s an inanimate object and a pretty cool prize. The fact is this $500 prize will pale in comparison to the actual pot of money each athlete will receive for being crowned the Fittest on Earth. His announcement caused all sorts of drama, I am not calling it controversy, just drama from a group of people who are part of the problem we currently face. Their biggest complaint is the timing and lack of sensitivity regarding current events.

Due process double standard

With facts still waiting to be released on the shootings that initiated a string of violent mob events culminating with murder of five Texas police officers I fail to see the problem. Dave is a Teammate and Crossfit has deep roots in the military and law enforcement professions. How is this being insensitive to the five police officers who were murdered? I have seen plenty of ignorant people making all sorts of claims leveled against police. Yet, the moment you confront their claims with facts you are the enemy because you challenge their narrative with God forbid the truth. More importantly if instead of a gun, would the cowardly mob feel better if it were a brand new car? Because cars don’t kill…oh wait.

Nothing to see here

By now we have all witnessed the vile and evil acts of an Islamic terrorist running people over in Nice France. He ran them over with a large truck and imposed his will and hatred until he was finally killed by you guessed it; a gun. So, we have a truck used for evil and a gun used for good. Do you see the irony here? The truck did not turn itself on, put itself into gear and steer over these poor people to include women and children. It did so because someone made a choice to sit behind the wheel and purposefully murdered those people. When I see this type of reaction to Dave’s announcement, I see nothing more than cowards.

Support hypocrisy

Many within the Crossfit community are the ones pushing the drama truck and they should be ashamed of themselves. The Crossfit community is one where there is great support for one another regardless of your size, gender, age or beliefs. Yet, an inanimate object strikes terror into their hearts and thrusts them into action to stop the insanity. In other words, you can be whoever you want, but a legal object that can be legally owned for the purposes of a legal endeavor is somehow sacrilegist. Grow a pair of balls. You wonder why we are experiencing such turbulent times, a large portion of blame points to this type of thinking, this type of victim mentality.

God bless them and their families

Let me tell you about victims, Sean and Brodie Copeland of Lakeway Texas. A father and son who were vacationing in France and were mowed down by pure hatred and evil. These are the real victims, it has nothing to do with an inanimate object it has everything to do with an ideology of hatred. It has nothing to do with an inanimate object, it has to do with the person making the choice to use that object for evil. If you are calling for more gun control, but cannot utter the words islamic terrorist to describe these events you are a flaming asshole. If you cannot recognize we are all hated by this religion then you are not only part of the problem, but complicit in these heinous acts.

I fully support my Teammate in his choice for one of many prizes to be awarded at this year’s Games and will be watching intently. Those of you with your panties in a wad…I will reserve my true comments and leave you with this; you are cowards.

With everyone on alert post Islamic terrorist attack around the world, what are your priorities. Have you stopped to think how you should respond with and without your family.

What if

The moment any of these tragic events take place there is a major amount of brainwaves dedicated to how we might respond. I’m not saying this is a bad thing at all, these “what if” games are crucial towards developing your situational awareness. A lot of times we hear comments like “keep your head on a swivel” or “stay alert”, but what does that really mean to the average person? I break this down into looking for things out of place, general alertness and high probability. While visualization will help with all of these, I find it very useful to the high probability events. These are events that meet a certain set of circumstances such as; time, location and history. These visualization games help us back things up a bit and look at the precursory clues or indicators in the hopes of spotting them while we are still ahead of the game.

The nitty-gritty

Even then, there are still lots of questions to ask yourself, such as will you make contact, will you seek cover, will you move to an exit. While each of these responses should be well thought out a big consideration is are you alone or are you with loved ones? If you are with family the dynamics are going to be significantly different. Your primary responsibility will be seeking and securing their safety. More than likely that will be moving to an exit or exfil to a known safe/secure location away from the area.

Move with a purpose

Even with the situation narrowed down as above, there are still many things to consider. The tactical imperative should be getting your party to safety in the most expeditious manner possible. While you may not be able to predict with absolute certainty what is going to happen, what you can do is familiarize yourself with the current location you happen to be occupying. I break these down into hasty, fixed, mobile and in extremis. Either case, there are some principles that transcend these scenarios. I’ve mentioned them before, but they are worth restating, any tactical movement you perform should have these principles in mind; where is the enemy, where is your next piece of cover, where is your last piece of cover, where is your exfil/exit and where are friendlies/support.

Be prepared

Yes, this is a lot to think about, but like anything we do practice helps to make things smoother. Chances are you already performing something similar when you drive, you just haven’t thought about it from this perspective. These principles help you make better decisions under pressure, narrowing them down will also speed up the decision making process. My last visit to a well  known restaurant drove this point home during a brief incident. While the commotion happened outside, it happened within eyesight of the customers. Since I was with my family and I had no idea what the commotion was all about I put into place some immediate prerogatives. Fortunately I did not have to initiate any of them, but the point was once again driven home. I believe it is more than reasonable for folks to come up with their own as they see fit.

Even a poorly thought out plan executed swiftly and aggressively will beat not doing anything in these critical incidents. Getting off the proverbial “x” should be your tactical imperative.

Stop the insanity

I consider it an important function to answer questions I get from folks surrounding terrorist acts. After a recent conversation I finally reached a breaking point when they commented “my heart and prayers go out to them.” No, you don’t get to say that anymore, you don’t get to diminish the atrocity by changing your Facebook profile to show “solidarity”. I don’t know about the rest of you, but it is all bullshit.

Squirrel…

I’m not doubting their sincerity and I am certainly not demising the horrible evil taking place, but at a certain point this seems more an effort to absolve guilt than anything. Seriously, most folks can’t even point to Belgium on a map or even understand it’s significance in the European theater and if someone uses the term “kill switch” one more time so help me God. Granted there is still a lot we don’t know and as this events shifts into the criminal investigation side hopefully more information will surface. I feel as though people are tired of looking for answers to fit their own belief and quickly change the subject or get butt hurt when you ask them penetrating questions such as “do you have any idea what their end game is and how it affects you?” I don’t even bother with the low level questions, I go right for the jugular.

In my time

Often they have no idea, having no true understanding of the global caliphate much less what it means to our children and their future. My good friend and fellow teammate Andy Stumpf said it best by dividing the population into watchmakers and those who glance at the time. In addition, I believe there are many who truly want to know how the watch works, to understand all the nuances, details and intricacies. Part of the problem though is even if you do want to understand how the watch works, you probably won’t truly until you actually sit down to assemble one. To put in the painstaking effort of assembling something so complex.

Start looking towards the horizon

I truly believe these people want to understand and when they realize how complex the process is they often times are overwhelmed. Keep in mind we did not get to this point overnight, this has been brewing for decades. You have had your head buried or better, you have been preoccupied with your own world. The space immediately around you, it comes as shock to see the world for how it really is right now. Some are concerned with tactics, how to deal with an event such as the one in Brussels, these are important discussions for sure, but the more important discussion is the recognition, the acknowledgment.

Speak the truth

If you cannot stand there with a straight face and openly acknowledge the culprit behind these crimes against humanity as Islam then you will be part of the group who is content with only telling time. If on the other hand, you can recognize not simply the hatred, but the final end state. An end state where at the core is an ideology that cannot coexist with anyone outside of their own beliefs then you may one day develop the skill to be a watchmaker. There is a lot at stake, more than many can truly understand and that is fine. What is not fine is when their ignorance or worse arrogance interferes with the safety and security of our nation, our children’s future.

Divided we will fall for sure, but ignorance will truly be the death of us. United in belief and then guided by resolve is our best strategy.

Has anyone stopped to consider the worse case scenario of a terrorist attack in the US? Not the loss of life alone, but the loss of our civil liberties?

What seems more reasonable

There comes a time when you can no longer trust a fools action for being foolhardy. Would the loss of life be terrible, absolutely! I can no longer concern myself with the loss of life only, but the next logical step. Think about the fallout of a Islamic terrorist attack on our home soil similar to what we saw in Paris earlier this month. Better yet, think about the Boston Marathon bombings. Does the end justify the means? Does giving up civil rights during an event like the bombings or a future terrorist attack seem reasonable. I will tell you what seems more reasonable, dealing with the terrorist threat like men and not the cowards who continue to jeopardize our national safety.

The proverbial snowball

In the tactical world, a tragic accident is not the result of a single incident, but the culmination of several seemingly insignificant acts. When totaled the equal bad things and I believe the same can be said for the situation we are in right now with the threat of Islamic terrorism so high. Let’s look at it from this perspective, from a no shit logical point of view. If I had to look at a soft target with a high reward versus low risk I would look at our schools. They are very vulnerable no matter how many “gun free” zone signs are posted. Some schools have armed resource officers; obviously a good thing. Don’t be mislead into thinking it is sufficient though. The schools who do not have an armed uniformed presence are the most vulnerable so it seems logical to strengthen their security posture by adding an armed uniformed presence.

Who’s going to pay for this?

Now, here comes the bad news. There is no way we could maintain this strategy long term, absolutely no way. We could certainly beef up during times it is reasonable such as known intelligence or holidays, but to keep them there full time means it is costing us money. Plus, these bodies are coming from place, some other need. The next logical step would be to hire more officers to fill the gaps created. Again, who is going to pay for this as a permanent solution? Our economy is in shambles and not getting better anytime soon. National security should be a top priority of course, so we could cut back aide to foreign countries or admitting refugees and illegal aliens who are a drain on our resources, but even then that is not enough.

Back to the armed society

At some point we all have to acknowledge it is not feasible in those terms. A far better idea is to build our armed society. I’m not the only person who thinks this way, the former Interpol Secretary General Ronald Noble suggested the solution to our security problem is arming the citizenry. His comments came in the wake of the deadly al-Shabab mall attack in Nairobi. I liked his rationale, you either harden the soft target so much you can’t get in or you go about arming the populace.

It boils down to money

One of my jobs in my former life was to evaluate and assess our national interests abroad. I traveled all over the world and I took my job seriously knowing the lives of my fellow Americans were at stake. I would spare no expense in my evaluations and it wasn’t until I was sitting with one RSO who honestly commented the suggestions were spot on, but so cost prohibitive they wouldn’t get approval. Of course, I was disappointed, but again it is the ugly truth. No, protecting soft targets is not easy. The slippery slope is giving up personal freedom, where you no longer have the ability to walk freely in your own neighborhoods. Quite frankly I loathe that idea, freedom must be preserved at all costs.

Oh the irony

I find it ironic how Washington DC police chief Cathy Lanier has come out and publicly commented “taking action and fighting” is now the best option. She’s right, but what bothers me is the fact she realizes “the situation has changed”. The situation hasn’t really changed, what has changed is her opinion. Like the hundreds of anti-gun, her’s pacifist dogma is costing more lives than saving. If we want to see our way of life preserved, our freedoms preserved it will come by way of violence. At a certain point, violence is the best answer. It may not come to that if the Islamic terrorist realize the juice is not worth the squeeze, behind every blade of grass is a rifle, but it will take a nation wide effort.

Maybe this was necessary to galvanize our way of life for our children, maybe we needed the threat of freedom destroyed to stand up and defend her. What will you do?

I waited several days before commenting on the Islamic terrorist attack in France last week. I was curious what developments we would see or if it would be the same old lip service.

Surprise, surprise, surprise

True to form, I wasn’t disappointed. What I mean was everyone pretty much acted the way I would expect and in particular the media and our administration. It is horrible what happened in France; as an American and a human I am sadden by the loss of life. I use to say senseless loss of life, but it seems it does make sense to a certain group. The point I’m making is nothing different is being done to truly combat the situation and people are scared.

Priorities and national interests

They should be scared; we have an inept government who is woefully ill prepared to handle foreign policy that safe guards our national interests and protects our citizens. With all due respect to the world I don’t give a rat’s ass. I unapologetically care about my family, my country and our way of life. I have no problem lending aide, but not at the sacrifice of our beliefs or safety. It is important we recognize we are a beacon of hope and prosperity, but it also doesn’t mean we need to over burden ourselves to the point our quality of life or our way of life is discarded. I think it is great there are people who want to help people from another country. I think it is great they want to welcome them with open arms. I think you are an asshole when you turned a blind eye to our homeless and homeless veterans in an effort to show some sort of hip or popular opinion.

The perpetual snooze button

It shouldn’t be anyone’s wake up call since this war has been waged against us since the 1980’s. If you are just now entering the game, welcome, but you better warm up fast because we are in the 4th quarter. You better figure out we as American citizens are the original first responders. Our armed culture is the true national defense. It is cute how we see calls for domestic law enforcement to step up their game. In case you didn’t realize it, this type of event would be difficult for any unit or organization to handle. The attacks in France signify a new level of war and one we are not as prepared to deal with as everyone believes. So, if you think playing dead during an Islamic terrorist attack will ensure your survival I’ve got some bad news for you. It is sad French citizens and one American had to die for some people to come out and decry the atrocities. I think it is great people came together to pray for the families. I think you are an asshole if you did, yet are offended when a coach wants to pray with his players before they take the field.

Suck it PC world

It is difficult to comprehend how far we have fallen in the last 7 years. When I speak with my friends many comment how they never thought they would see the day our country’s fabric would begin to unravel. It is not hard to figure out why it has begun to unravel, political correctness and sensitivity training have brainwashed some into believing we should be mindful of these confused souls. They just need to be heard or given a platform to share their grievances and everything would be alright. In the end we can all get along. Well, I think you are an asshole when you cannot even come out and call these acts Islamic terrorism. When even the perpetrators themselves refer to themselves as Islamic terrorist, but the rest of the world cannot seem to in the off chance they offend someone.

We are in our current situation because there are too many cowards. Cowards who are afraid to confront evil and would have us all live in their pathetic version of a world than to proudly be American.
