Course Description:

The Low Visibility Operator (313) is an advanced 3-day course on covert carrying of pistols, compact rifles/sub-guns and other supporting equipment in non-permissive environments. Students learn the essential skills for concealing and drawing their primary carry pistol and fixed blade knife from regular street clothes in high threat surroundings. In additions, students learn the essential skills for concealing and deploying compact rifles/sub-guns from discrete carry bags as both an immediate and planned response. Close range evolutions will focus on quickly defeating the cover garment for fast, first shots on target or knife strikes to vital anatomy. Long range evolutions will focus on delivering precise shots with primary carry pistol or deploying compact rifle/sub-gun for increased range, firepower and effectiveness. Subjects covered include: concealed carry methods, defeat methodology, compact rifle/sub-gun setup, discrete carry bag setup, fixed blade knife techniques, and integrated pistol/rifle/knife techniques. A major objective is maintaining the lowest visibility possible until the last, best option is necessary to stop an attack with either primary carry pistol or compact rifle/sub-gun and break contact. Students are provided real time feedback and corrective strategies based on performance and specified needs. Additional subjects include: movement, multiple threats, choosing cover garments, fixed blade carriage, sling tension method and soft armor incorporation.

  • Compact rifle/sub-gun with red dot sight and weapon mounted light

Course Prerequisites:

The below drills are suggested as minimum skill requirements to meet the prerequisites. All rifle drills are shot using a low ready position of at least 45 degrees downward. All pistol drills are shot from concealment. The recommended target is the TRICON TCT-MK4 available from Action Target or printable TRICON B8 target.

  • TRICON pistol “Bravo” Standard; at the 10 yard line, fire 9 rounds reload and fire 1 round in 12 seconds. Must be below par and score 80/100 or higher.
  • TRICON rifle “Kilo” standard: at the 25 yard line, fire 1 headshot, move to 15 yard and fire 2 rounds, move to the 10 yard line and fire 3 rounds, move to the 7 yard line and fire a failure to stop, move to the 5 yard line and fire 1 heatshot in 2.5 seconds or less. Must be below par and score 80/100 or higher.
  • TRICON rifle “Juliet” standard: at the 50 yard line, fire 10 rounds from any position in 60 seconds or less. Must be below par and score 80/100 or higher.

Course Description:

The Advanced Operators Course (311) is an advanced 3-day course combining instruction and training for duty pistols and CQB rifles. Students learn to shoot both platforms equipped with modern accessories at their upper levels of performance, balancing both speed and accuracy. The curriculum is largely made up of graded drills designed to hold the shooter to a high level of accountability. Students are expected to have a high marksmanship knowledge level and demonstrable skills. Close range shooting with both pistol and rifle will focus on applying an acceptable sight picture and using rough trigger control. Long range shooting will emphasize understanding time, distance and exposure to score the fastest hits. Subjects covered include: proper zeroing, duty-level core competencies, gear setup, acceptable sight theory, evidence observed assessments and stress management techniques. Students are provided real time feedback and corrective strategies based on performance and specified needs. Additional subjects covered include: movement, multiple threatspositional shooting, bilateral shooting, target analysis and reduced targets.

  • CQB rifle with red dot sight (suppressed 10.5″-12″bbl is recommended)
  • Adjustable two point sling
  • Duty pistol (weapon light optional)

The Off Duty Carry (213) is an intermediate 2-day course for everyday carry of concealed pistols and supporting equipment after hours. Students learn the essential skills for concealing and drawing their primary carry pistol from regular street clothes in everyday situations. Close range shooting will focus on quickly defeating the cover garment for fast, first shots on target. Long range shooting will focus on delivering precise shots against complex targets. Subjects covered include: concealed carry methods, defeat methodology, drawstroke techniques, hand positions, supporting equipment and defensive mindset. A major objective is stopping a deadly force threat by defeating any cover garment to deliver quick and effective shots. Students are provided real time feedback and corrective strategies based on performance and specified needs. Additional subjects include: movement, multiple threats, choosing cover garments, verbal commands, ammunition management and strong hand only techniques.

Basic Concealed Carry or similar. The below drills are suggested as minimum skill requirements to meet the prerequisites. All drills are shot using primary carry firearm from the holster. The recommended target is the TRICON TCT-MK4 available from Action Target or TRICON B8 target.

  • TRICON “Delta” Drill: at the 5 yard line; fire 1 round in 3 seconds. Repeat drill firing 2 rounds, 3 rounds, 4 rounds and 5 rounds. Must be below par for each stage and score 120/150 or higher.

Course Description:

The LPVO Rifle (206) is an intermediate level 2-day course for the professional gunman emphasizing practical application of the low powered variable optic mounted on a duty M4/AR15 rifle in urban tactical scenarios. In the LPVO Rifle course students learn to deliver effective fire from 5 to 300 yards (where available). The curriculum is largely made up of marksmanship application from various positions and distances with graded drills designed to hold the shooter to a high level of accountability. Heavy emphasis is placed on mastering the following: position, grip, aiming, trigger control and follow through. 

Subjects covered include: LPVO selection & mounting, zero selection & zeroing proceduresadvanced marksmanship techniques, point blank range familiarization, CQB range shooting, ballistic holds, shooting positions, sling supported shooting, positional shooting, and weak side shooting. Students learn how to create a basic data card on ballistic performance to improve shooting predictability and reliability for future engagements. Students are provided real time feedback and corrective strategies based on performance and specified needs. Additional subjects include: reticle familiarization, proper magnification use, target analysis, “red dot” shooting techniques, unconventional shooting positions.
